Brief History

The Apostolic Church is an off-shoot of the great Welsh Revival of 1904 -1905. One of the fruits of that revival—Pastor D.P. Williams—went on to begin a movement that later became known as The Apostolic Church. As the church grew, they sent forth missionaries beyond the British Isles in their global agenda of belting the globe with the gospel. These were people who encountered Jesus and couldn't keep the experience to themselves so they went all over the world with the message. One of the countries they reached out to was Nigeria upon receiving an invitation from a group of believers there. This group became officially affiliated with The Apostolic Church of Great Britain and became known as The Apostolic Church, Nigeria In 1931.
In consistence with the mission strategy of The Apostolic Church, the missionaries sent to Nigeria established an indigenous National Apostolic Church in Nigeria. After a few decades, The Apostolic Church Nigeria grew and became an autonomous national body with 5 territories, the largest of which is known as LAWNA. As TAC LAWNA grew and expanded, the territory in turn sent missionaries to mission fields in different continents around the world. One of these mission fields is United Kingdom (taking the gospel back to the land of the missionaries that brought the same to Nigeria), hence TAC (LAWNA) UK.
